We understand that speed is of the essence when adding players to a tournament. Tournament organizers can add a person with their gamertag + their email, and that player can go set up their account later when they have time.

Adding a Player with Gamertag Only

One option for adding players without an account is to add them by their gamertag only. This will create a player that's not connected to a user account, and their profile picture will be an "anonymous" image. You can do this by:

  1. Clicking on Settings

  2. Clicking on Attendees

  3. Clicking the blue Add Attendee button in the top-right corner of the page

  4. Clicking the Add someone without an account option to add a new player

  5. Selecting the events you’d like to add the new attendee to

  6. Clicking Add Attendee

Please note, this does not create an account for the player, and if you're entering them into an online tournament, they will not be able to check in for their own match or report scores.

Adding a Player with Gamertag + Email

If you add a player to the tournament with their email address, it will give them the option to create a start.gg account. The steps are mostly the same as when you're adding someone via gamertag only. The important difference is, when the player detail window pops up, you'll need to input the email address you'd like to use to invite this player!

The player will receive an email inviting them to join the tournament and create a start.gg account, which they must do prior to participating.
