Once you’ve found an event on start.gg that you’d like to participate in, it’s time to register!

Pass Selection

This determines the type of pass you’ll be registering for. For in-person tournaments, there are sometimes multiple types of passes. If an option is greyed out, it is not available. If you are registering for a spectator pass at a tournament, you cannot register for events.

Configure Passes

If you’re logged in, this process will be quick and easy - information will be pulled from your account in order to fulfill requirements of the tournament.

You may be asked for more specific information in order to help the admins, such as your zip code, main character or a shipping address. If the admin has marked a specific field as required, you will not be able to proceed to the next step without completing it.

This is also the step where you can register for events. There may be limits on the number of games or events, depending on what the admin allows. If you are registering for a teams event, you may be prompted to create your entire team during this step, or join a team you have been invited to. If you skip the team creation process, you can manage your team later from the Manage Registration tab.

Make sure your information is correct! Having incorrect information in registration can impede or completely block you from participating in the event.

Merchandise

Some events will allow you to purchase merchandise during registration. You may be required to provide shipping information, or your shirt size. If an item is out of stock, the option will be greyed out.

Payment

Finally, if the event isn’t free (online tournaments are!), you’ll be prompted to pay for your registration. Everything from the previous steps will be totaled here, and you’ll also be given the chance to enter discount codes that were distributed by the tournament admin.

Tournament admins can allow for three different ways to allow for payment. Pay on-site will allow you to pay the tournament admin in person. Pay with card will prompt you to enter your debit or credit card information to pay. Finally, Pay with Paypal will guide through a flow to allow you to pay with funds or connected accounts through your Paypal.

Sharing Your Registration

Once you've successfully completed your registration, you'll have the option to share it with your social media followers! Once your registration is submitted, the box below will pop up:

Clicking the Share or Tweet buttons will take you to the Facebook or Twitter account that you're logged into on your device. A post will be started for you that includes a link to the tournament you signed up for, and you can change the text to say whatever you'd like.
