A rule set on smash.gg is the set of tasks that guide players through online tournament matches. In the case of Smash, these are primarily for dictating the stage selection and striking process.

Rule sets are primarily for the purposes of automating online tournaments and are normally not enabled for in-person tournaments.

smash.gg currently has a small selection of rule sets enabled for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that can be selected in the Event Creation process on your tournament page.

No Rule Set

If "Ultimate Singles (No Stage Selection)" is selected, then sets will have no specific stage list assigned to them.

Note: This is the recommended option if you are running a unique rule-set or would like to run your own custom ruleset. Players could then report their stage bans from the Tournament Match Chat
