Submitting a tournament on smash.gg is a process designed to be as quick and easy as possible. Once you’ve filled out a few details, there will be a small waiting period while you wait for approval.
In the Create New Tournament modal, you are prompted to fill out:
- Tournament Name
- Tournament’s Timezone
- Start Date (and time)
- End Date (and time)
If you're looking to copy settings from a previous tournament, this can be found in advanced settings.
Things To Do
After hitting Create Tournament, you are brought to your new tournament and the Things To Do page. On this page, you are given a list of actions that you’ll need to complete to get your tournament going.
The Things To Do section in the top left will change every time you have a new task to complete.
Tournament Submission and Approval
Once all of the prerequisites have been met, you’ll be able to submit your tournament for approval! We’ll just need to know your Estimated Number of Attendees and a link to your Facebook account, so we can keep up to date with you!
Once our team looks over your tournament, we’ll approve it and you can begin setting up your tournament! You will receive an email with a link to your approved tournament, and you’ll also get notified in your support chat!
Please allow for at least 24 hours for tournaments to be approved.
There are a few reasons we might Deny your tournament. If we deny your tournament, you’ll receive an email explaining why, and actions to take in order to fix them. Once this is fixed or completed, you’ll need to go back to Things to Do and re-submit your tournament.
Invalid Facebook Page
The page you linked for your Facebook isn’t a valid individual Facebook profile. Without fixing this, we won’t be able to set up a support chat with you, which is crucial for getting top tier support from our team.

Incorrect Facebook Privacy Settings

Copying Settings From Previous Tournaments
If you have a tournament very similar to a previous tournament you've run on the platform, you can copy settings from the old tournament. Copying settings tournaments will save the hassle of consistently entering details that you've previously entered into smash.gg.
Cloning is found within Advanced Settings on the Create a Tournament Modal. In this menu, you can choose which options are carried over to the new tournament. Once you've created a tournament with copied settings, you will still need to go through the aforementioned Things To Do process before you can begin running your tournament.
